Acorn Media have announced that the 2009 BBC TV Series has now been released early in time for Christmas and is available exclusively from their website
Land Girls follows the lives and loves of four girls away from home during the Second World War all doing their bit for Britain. Nancy, Joyce, Bea and Annie have joined the Women Land Army for very different reasons,Mbt Sandalen Swala, but they all share a common goal ?to help serve their country and to help win the war. As they adapt to their new surroundings and begin the hard work, they realise that their lives will change forever.

Land Girls was broadcast on BBC One in September 2009 and was BBC Daytime's first commission of a period drama. It starred Summer Strallen, Christine Bottomley,Mbt Schuhe Meli, Jo Woodcock and Becci Gemmell as four different girls doing their bit for Britain in the Women's Land Army during World War Two. The series was transmitted in five parts across one week as a one-off special event to mark the 70th anniversary of the outbreak of World War Two.
Land Girls surpassed the average audience share for the year in its slot and peaked at 2.6 million viewers. A second series of Land Girls has been commissioned and filming is currently underway. The second series will return to the rural Forties and will continue to examine the women who helped the war effort.
Controller of BBC Daytime, Liam Keelan,hogan vendita, said "The first series of Land Girls was something completely new for BBC One Daytime. It proved to be such a success with our viewers that I'm delighted to be able to announce the commission of a second series".
The first series of Land Girls won a number of awards, including Best Daytime Programme at the 2010 Broadcast Awards. Land Girls also won four RTS Midlands Awards on 4th November 2010 - Best Drama,Mbt Staka Sandalen, Best Newcomer (Becci Gemmell), Best Actress (Sophie Ward), and Best Actor (Danny Webb).
